On July 30, Samsung Electronics held a board meeting and resolved to invest 495 billion won in cash in the "New Technology Business Investment Partnership (SVIC No. 82)" to be established by Samsung Venture Investment, aiming to invest in semiconductor startups both domestically and internationally, as well as to promote technological and business collaboration. Including the 5 billion won contribution from Samsung Venture Investment, the total size of the fund will be 500 billion won.

The investment is scheduled for next month and will be operated through an ongoing capital call system, whereby capital is injected as new promising startup investment opportunities arise, during the partnership's 13-year duration.

In addition, Samsung Electronics and Samsung Venture Investment will jointly launch the "SVIC No. 83" fund, which will be worth 300 billion won, to discover promising future technologies for the DX division. Samsung Electronics will contribute approximately 297 billion won, while Samsung Venture Investment will provide 3 billion won. Starting next month, SVIC No. 83 will also use a rolling capital call system over the following ten years to secure promising technologies.
