Rabi Lamichhane departs for Delhi on India visit
KATHMANDU, June 1: Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane left for India on Monday on a five-day official visit, following an invitation from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Nitin Nabin.
Lamichhane is accompanied by his wife Nekita Poudel, party joint general secretary Bipin Acharya, and secretariat members Deepak Bohora and Pradip Acharya.
During his stay in Delhi, he is expected to hold a series of high-level political and diplomatic engagements. According to the BJP, the visit is aimed at initiating formal party-to-party dialogue between the RSP and the BJP, with discussions focused on organizational practices, democratic processes, and strengthening people-centered political outreach.
The visit has attracted attention in Nepal’s political circles, particularly in the wake of recent controversial remarks by Prime Minister Balen Shah, who referenced disputes related to Nepal–India territorial claims.
Lamichhane is scheduled to return home on June 5 after completing the five-day visit.
