Professor Son Taebok of Bucheon University Receives Minister of SMEs and Startups Commendation for Supporting SMEs Affected by Technology Misappropriation
The Gyeongcheong Foundation, a public interest foundation dedicated to restoring the rights of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and small business owners, announced on the 29th that its founder, Son Taebok, received a commendation from the Minister of SMEs and Startups at the "80th Anniversary Ceremony of the Korean Patent Attorneys Association."

The Korean Patent Attorneys Association held its 80th anniversary ceremony on the 26th at its headquarters in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and selected Professor Son as the recipient of the award in recognition of his contributions to the development of Korea's intellectual property (IP) system and policy, as well as efforts to strengthen the IP competitiveness of the industrial sector.
Since its establishment in 2019, the Gyeongcheong Foundation has provided free legal support for more than 500 cases over the past seven years, assisting SMEs and small business owners facing difficulties due to technology misappropriation disputes with large corporations.
Notably, the foundation has helped resolve over 30 disputes through settlements before they escalated into legal proceedings, thereby achieving meaningful results in fostering cooperation between large and small businesses. In addition, the foundation continues to actively pursue various public interest initiatives, including relief activities for SMEs victimized by technology misappropriation, improvements to relevant systems, and legal consulting for small business owners.
