Police seek footage in Downtown suspicious death case
Edmonton Police Service is asking anyone who was in the area of 111 Street to 115 Street and 103 Avenue to 107 Avenue from 5:30 a.m. and 7 a.m. Saturday morning, especially anyone with a dash or surveillance camera, to come forward as they investigate a suspicious death.
Investigators are particularly interested in anything involving a "dark-coloured SUV fleeing the area."
Downtown patrol officers were dispatched to the area at 6:30 a.m. July 4 after receiving a complaint about weapons. Upon arrival, the found an injured male and called in Emergency Medical Services. The man was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday.
EPS homicide unit is investigating the matter. Police say anyone who was driving in the area with a dash camera or had surveillance cameras turned on should contact the detachment at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile device.
