Police attend unlicensed event in woodland
Officers have remained at the scene of an unlicensed music event attended by several hundred people, a police force has said.
Northamptonshire Police said it was called to woodland outside of Weldon, near Corby, at 23:30 BST on Saturday.
Police said a road closure had been put in place to prevent additional people accessing the site but due to the number of people present they were unable to clear the area "without putting the public at risk".
"We appreciate the frustration this event has caused to local communities and are working to shut it down, identify those responsible and to prosecute them," a spokesperson for the force said.
They added: "A police presence remains at the scene this morning and an investigation is underway to establish who has attended the event and what criminal offences have been committed."
