Oslo-based Visoid raises €2.2 million to scale its AI visualisation platform for architects

Visoid, an Oslo-based AI visualisation platform for architects and industry professionals, has secured €2.16 million ($2.5 million) in fresh funding to support the company’s next stage of growth.

The round was led by Skyfall Ventures, with participation from existing investors StartupLab, OBOS and Antler, alongside new investors Farvatn and byFounders Angel Collective.

“Architects have been using the same software for the past 30 years, and they were reluctant to try new ones. It’s amazing to see how fast they adapt to this technology. We don’t need to sell it to them, they simply want it themselves. This is the foundation we are building on,” said Visoid CEO Mark Szoke.

Founded in 2023 by former architect Mark Szoke and serial entrepreneur Joachim Holwech, Visoid states that rather than replacing the architect’s creative process, it transforms existing 3D models into high-quality visualisations in minutes while preserving the original design intent.

The platform mentions that it allows architects to iterate faster, communicate ideas more effectively and make better decisions, without relying on traditional rendering workflows.

“Architecture requires much more than beautiful images. Architects need AI that understands their models, preserves design intent and fits naturally into professional workflows,” said Joachim Holwech, CPO at Visoid.

Visoid reported that it has already gained traction among leading global architecture firms, including OMA, LEO A DALY, Sweco Group and Nordic Office of Architecture.

“Mark and Joachim combine deep domain expertise with serious technical depth in AI and machine learning, and a commercial instinct that comes naturally to them,” said Preben Songe-Møller, Partner and co-founder at Skyfall.

The company plans to use this fresh capital to support the company’s next stage of growth, including expanding its engineering, product and commercial teams. Visoid currently has a team of nine employees and expects to double in size by the end of the year.

It also plans to accelerate the development of new AI capabilities for architectural workflows, growing its international customer base and deepening partnerships with leading architecture and design firms.
