One lane open through crash site on T.C.H. after several-hour closure south of Clarenville

Police ask public to proceed with extra caution

The RCMP has opened one lane of traffic through a crash site that closed a section of the Trans-Canada Highway south of Clarenville for several hours on Saturday.

The crash happened near Hillview and Route 205 early Saturday morning.

There are no detours in the area, and police are asking motorists to proceed with extra caution.

"Please slow down, follow the direction of first responders and traffic control personnel, and be prepared for delays as work continues," the latest RCMP update reads.

Police are also asking the public not to call RCMP detachments, police non-emergency lines or 911 seeking more information.

"These calls tie up phone lines and emergency resources that are needed to respond to active incidents and calls for police service," an update reads.
