NVIDIA Confirms DLSS 5 for RTX 40

NVIDIA confirmed that DLSS 5, after optimization, will receive official support for the entire GeForce RTX 40 series, although the exact update date is still unknown.

Jaycon Freeman from NVIDIA stated that DLSS 5 has become the company's most demanding computational model. Since its March presentation, its performance has increased fivefold, although optimization work continues. The priority remains with RTX 50, which will receive more powerful versions of the technology in the fall. After that, NVIDIA will focus on adapting DLSS 5 for RTX 40.

DLSS 5 uses 3D-Guided Neural Rendering to change lighting, materials, shadows, and character appearances using AI. The technology analyzes each frame, which puts more strain on tensor cores than previous DLSS versions. This is why support was initially limited to RTX 50.

Today, GeForce Game Ready 616.64 WHQL drivers were also released with DLSS 5 support in NBA 2K27. Currently, Neural Rendering is only available to RTX 50 owners. NVIDIA has not disclosed plans for official support for RTX 30 and RTX 20.
