TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. – Phoenix Spark brought Team Travis Airmen together with 28 industry vendors to explore emerging technologies and potential solutions to military challenges during its annual Industry Day at Travis Air Force Base, Sept. 23, 2026.

Industry Day featured technologies focused on human performance and readiness, contested logistics, security and counter-drone capabilities, allowing Airmen to explore solutions for evolving mission needs.

U.S. Air Force Maj. Dustin Wallace, 60th Air Mobility Wing chief of innovation and Phoenix Spark director, described Industry Day as an opportunity for Airmen to connect directly with the companies developing military technology.

“I hope it gets Airmen thinking about technology as a solution,” Wallace said. “Maybe there is a better technology that would help you accomplish a mission faster or better, more effectively.”

For Airmen, Industry Day provided exposure to technologies beyond the systems they already use and an opportunity to see potential solutions to challenges they encounter while accomplishing the mission. For commanders, the event offered a look at capabilities that could support their units and inform how they use available resources.

Counter-drone technology was the primary focus of Industry Day, with 18 of the 28 vendors showcasing capabilities designed to defeat drone threats. The focus allowed Airmen to explore technologies aimed at protecting personnel in modern operating environments.

As technology continues to evolve, Industry Day gives Airmen a closer look at emerging capabilities and how they could contribute to accomplishing the mission more effectively. That exposure also places Airmen closer to the modernization process by encouraging them to consider new solutions to the challenges they face.

“I hope more Airmen are inspired to see what the realm of possibility is with cutting-edge technology,” Wallace said.
