MSC Baltic III removal begins in Cedar Cove
Giant chains are dragging the MSC Baltic III to the shoreline in Cedar Cove, near Lark Harbour on the west coast of Newfoundland. The large container ship grounded in a storm in February 2025. Then began the tedious process to remove the cargo containers and residual oil. A wreck removal company is pulling the boat in, breaking it into pieces trucking it out of the isolated cove. CBC News was in Cedar Cove for the start of the removal process.
