Montreal police never fired on civilian during deadly daytime shooting: Radio-Canada

Michel Mizrahi, 68, was one of 2 victims who died that day

Contrary to what was spread on social media in the aftermath of a deadly shooting in Montreal on June 22, an SPVM police officer did not fire on civilian Michel Mizrahi, who died in the operation, according to Radio-Canada sources.

The information was first reported by La Presse Wednesday morning.

According to the autopsy results, Mizrahi was shot multiple times that day and fatally struck in the head.

Radio-Canada sources say the impact of the fatal shot suggests a left-to-right trajectory and not one from underneath him, which is where a police officer was crouching, taking cover from the active shooter.

This allowed forensic pathologists to rule out the theory that the shot came from the police officer.
