The Kremlin on Wednesday acknowledged Narendra Modi's achievement of becoming India's longest-serving elected prime minister, a position previously held by Jawaharlal Nehru. Modi, who has been in office for 4,399 days, has surpassed Nehru's record of 4,398 days, according to The Times of India.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov commended Modi's leadership, stating that under his governance, 250 million people have been lifted out of poverty. This marks a significant indicator of progress for India, which has emerged as one of the world's leading economic powers with rapid growth and development rates.
Peskov highlighted the strong partnership between Russia and India, expressing optimism about further strengthening these relations. The spokesman conveyed hope that Modi's ongoing leadership will continue to foster development in bilateral ties.
