Mirzapur The Movie box office collection Day 1: Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal film earns ₹24.75 crore

Mirzapur: The Movie has made a strong theatrical debut, collecting an estimated ₹24.75 crore net in India on its opening day, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. The film, which brings the popular streaming franchise to cinemas, released on September 4 in Hindi and a Telugu-dubbed version.

The opening has placed the Gurmmeet Singh-directed film among the biggest Hindi releases of 2026 so far. The movie recorded an estimated India gross of ₹29.70 crore from 11,135 shows on Friday.

The Hindi version generated around ₹24.60 crore net, while the Telugu-dubbed edition contributed approximately ₹15 lakh. The film recorded overall theatre occupancy of 42.81%, with audience turnout strengthening as the day progressed.

Morning shows registered 25.85% occupancy, followed by 41.15% in the afternoon and 41.85% in the evening. Night shows delivered the strongest turnout at 62.38%.

Delhi NCR emerged as one of the strongest markets, recording 54.3% occupancy across 1,249 shows. Mumbai registered 30.8% occupancy across 818 shows, while the Telugu version posted an overall occupancy of 24.05%.

The opening was higher than the ₹18-20 crore range that several trade experts had anticipated before release. The film has also surpassed the opening-day figures of recent releases including Saiyaara, which earned ₹22 crore, and Awarapan 2, which collected ₹21.5 crore, according to the figures cited.

The film's performance also puts it in competition with other releases currently in theatres, including Hanuman Ansh and Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups.

Starring Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Divyenndu, Mirzapur: The Movie brings back several actors associated with the franchise. Ravi Kishan, Jitendra Kumar, Rasika Dugal, Sheeba Chadha, Abhishek Banerjee, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Shweta Tripathi, Harshita Gaur, Sonal Chauhan, Rajesh Tailang, Sushant Singh, Mohit Malik and Kulbhushan Kharbanda are also part of the cast.

Presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment, the film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment. It is directed by Gurmmeet Singh. The theatrical release follows the success of the Mirzapur web series, which has completed three seasons, with a fourth season in development.
