Mentor Public Library unveils next slate of free technology classes

Mentor Public Library is offering a trio of free technology classes this September at its Main Branch.

Excel 1 at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 22. Attendees will learn the basics for Microsoft Excel, including how to create a basic worksheet, describe a worksheet and its function, and apply simple formulas and formatting, according to a news release.

Excel 2 at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 23. This class teaches intermediate techniques for Microsoft Excel, and attendees will learn how to create and copy formulas and functions, as well as recognize and troubleshoot errors.

iPad Basics for non-iPhone users at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 24. Attendees will learn the basics of navigating an iPad using common apps, adjusting settings and more. Participants should bring their iPad, Apple Pencil (if they have one) and their Apple ID email address and password so they can fully participate in the class.

All of the classes are free, but registration is required and opens two weeks before the class is scheduled. Sign up online at www.mentorpl.org by calling Mentor Public Library at 440-255-8811 ext. 1. Registration opens Sept. 10.

The library also offers several online courses that teach how to use Microsoft software with the LinkedIn Learning database, the release stated. The courses are free to watch. For more information, visit www.mentorpl.org/linkedinlearning.
