Media Services Modernizes Classroom Technology for Fall 2026

As students and faculty return for the 2026-27 academic year, Seton Hall University's Media Services team has completed a series of technology upgrades designed to enhance teaching and learning across campus. The improvements include classroom technology enhancements in Corrigan Hall and Schwartz Hall, as well as a comprehensive refresh of instructional spaces at the Interprofessional Health Sciences (IHS) Campus.

Working year-round to support the University's academic mission, Media Services modernizes and maintains classroom technology to provide reliable, consistent and user-friendly experiences for faculty and students. The latest upgrades expand wireless presentation capabilities, standardize classroom technology and introduce new tools that support engaging instruction across a variety of learning environments.

As part of an ongoing effort, Media Services completed audiovisual upgrades in 12 classrooms in Corrigan Hall and in Room 105 of Schwartz Hall.

The Corrigan Hall classrooms were upgraded with laser short-throw projectors, Crestron push-button controllers and new interactive whiteboarding capabilities. Crestron AirMedia was also introduced in all 12 classrooms, allowing faculty and students to wirelessly share content from laptops, tablets and mobile devices.

These enhancements create a more consistent classroom experience throughout Corrigan Hall. Faculty teaching in multiple classrooms can use the same presentation technology and controls, while the interactive whiteboarding tools support greater engagement by allowing instructors to annotate content and capture notes during class.

In Schwartz Hall Room 105, the technology refresh included an updated projection system and displays, along with a new Crestron controller that simplifies source selection and audio management. Together, these upgrades provide a more reliable and intuitive classroom environment for instructors and students.

Media Services also completed a comprehensive technology refresh across 12 instructional spaces at the Interprofessional Health Sciences (IHS) Campus, including eight Flexible Classrooms and four Learning Studios. The upgrades establish a consistent technology experience across the updated spaces, making it easier for faculty to teach in multiple classrooms while supporting active learning and collaboration.

The refreshed spaces feature new high-brightness projectors, updated touch-panel controllers and standardized wall plates for wired connections to laptops and specialized devices used in health sciences instruction. Wireless presentation capabilities were also standardized across all 12 rooms through the deployment of Crestron AirMedia, the University's standard wireless presentation platform. AirMedia enables faculty and students to share content from laptops, tablets and mobile devices without the need for adapters or cables.

As instructional needs continue to evolve, Echo360 recording appliances were removed from the affected spaces. Faculty interested in recording lectures or demonstrations can work with their instructional designer to explore alternative recording options and learn how to use Microsoft Teams for in-class recording and content capture.

In addition to the classroom technology upgrades, Media Services has updated its support schedule at the IHS Campus beginning in fall 2026. Support is available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Weekend support requests should be submitted through the Media Services Request Form at least two weeks in advance to allow sufficient time for staffing and preparation.
