Mark Williams involved in two recurve 50+ world records in Medellin
USA’s Mark Williams was part of two world record performances on 24 May 2026 at the Pan American Youth and Masters Championships in Medellin, Colombia.
Williams and Janis Grellner combined for 1239 points over the 60-metre round (144 arrows), setting a world record in the recurve 50+ mixed team category. The score surpassed the previous world best of 1228 set by Bruce Arnold and Tatyana Muntyan of the US Virgin Islands at the 2024 edition of the event in El Salvador.
Williams joined Ali Gungoraydinoglu and Mark Hainline to score 1897 points over the 60-metre round (216 arrows), recording a second world record performance in the recurve 50+ men team category on the same day.
Both marks are pending ratification.
If confirmed, Williams would become the holder of two recurve 50+ world records from the same event.
