Man stabbed in murder attempt on Glasgow street

Police are investigating an attempted murder in Glasgow after a man was stabbed on the street.

The 46-year-old man was rushed to hospital after being seriously assaulted on Tollcross Road, near its junction with Crail Street, about 22:40 on Thursday.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Glasgow Royal Infirmary, where he is being treated for stab injuries. His condition is described as serious but stable.

The force have appealed for anyone with any information on the incident to come forward.

Det Insp Graham Clarke said: "Inquiries are ongoing into this attempted murder and we are appealing to the public for any information.

"This is a busy area and we are urging anyone who witnessed this attack, or anyone with information which could assist our inquiries to contact us."
