Man dies after car crashes into tree
A man has died after his car left the road and crashed into a tree, police have said.
It happened on the B4040 between Minety and Charlton in Wiltshire, at about 19:05 BST and was attended by Wiltshire Police and Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service.
The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 40s from Swindon, died at the scene and a passenger, a man in his 50s, was taken to hospital with serious injuries. No other vehicles were involved, police said.
The road was closed while investigators carried out inquiries and has since reopened.
