Man dead after shooting in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Que. restaurant

Man was rushed to hospital where he was later pronounced dead

Quebec provincial police are investigating a homicide in Salaberry-de-Valleyfield that happened Friday evening.

Police were called to the scene around 6:30 p.m. for a shooting at a restaurant in the city southwest of Montreal.

The Sûreté du Québec say a man in his 20s was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, where he later died.

Police say a suspect or suspects fled the scene.

The investigation is being handled by the crimes-against-persons unit of the provincial police.
