Man, 22, dead after he entered a body of water and did not resurface: Peterborough police
Officers called to Beavermead Park beach shortly after 7:30 p.m. Friday
Peterborough police say a 22-year-old man from Markdale, Ont., is dead after he entered a body of water and did not resurface.
In a news release Saturday, the Peterborough Police Service said it was called to Beavermead Park beach on Friday, shortly after 7:30 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers pulled the man from the water and attempted life-saving measures.
He was taken to Peterborough Regional Health Centre, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
Beavermead Park beach was closed for a period of time but has since reopened, Peterborough police said in Saturday's release.
