'Lowest score since 1975': P Chidambaram flags India's 106 rank on Electoral Democracy Index
Congress leader P Chidambaram has flagged India’s 106th position among 179 countries in V-Dem’s Electoral Democracy Index. India scored 0.38 for 2025, its lowest since 1975, according to V-Dem, which classifies the country as an “electoral autocracy”.
