Looking for a cool spot to watch Canada's game against Morocco?
If you're looking for a spot to watch Team Canada play Morocco in the FIFA World Cup on Saturday, why not make the drive to Amherstburg?
River Bookshop and Evelyn's Candy House are inviting soccer fans to join them. They'll be showing the game outside the shop at 67 Richmond Street. Throughout the event, those who go will have the chance to win a soccer-themed prize.
Kickoff is at 1 p.m. in Houston, Texas, and the event in Amherstburg gets underway at the same time.
In 2007, when Toronto FC was launched by local business owner and former sports executive Richard Peddie, only 5 million Canadians were following soccer. Now, that number is 12 million. That number is expected to climb even higher following Canada's historic performance in this year's World Cup.
