LETTER: Stand proud together as Canadians

Canada is a great country and we all should be very proud of being Canadian.

My dad, along with thousands of other Canadians, fought for this country during the past World Wars. They made this sacrifice because they believed in and loved our country.

So, when I hear of these Trump inspired separatist’s trying to divide us and tear our country apart, it makes me very sad.

Firstly, Trump is nothing more than a very sick con artist who uses his divisive tactics to divide and conquer to gain power.

The people who’re taken in by this demagogue’s ways are going to learn a very hard lesson down the road. And, that includes the many members of the conservative parties who seem to fall prey to Trump’s devious ways.

If you think that America is so great, then I invite you to move there.

For the rest of us truly dedicated and loving Canadians, I say stand strong for our country and its ideals of justice and tolerance for all.

Canada is a great and wonderful country that we all should be proud of and stand up for!
