Up-and-coming Kelowna band Freeze the Fall is getting national-level recognition after being named the Metal & Hard Music Artist of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards.
Freeze the Fall beat out four other metal bands such as Archspire (B.C.), Blue Youth (Sask.), Gnarwhal (N.W.T.) and Valley of Despair (Alta.) to win the award. The Kelowna band was presented the award in Victoria last week on Oct. 1.
The band will soon be returning to Kelowna. On Oct. 17 they will be playing at Red Bird Brewing, bringing their “winning sound home for a night of loud guitars, heavy riffs and high-energy rock,” reads a press release by the band.
