Internationals: Gusto features as France suffer World Cup warm
Chelsea defender Malo Gusto was introduced as a second-half substitute for France, whose preparation for the World Cup continued this evening against the Ivory Coast.
Gusto started the friendly, which was held in Nantes, among the French substitutes and watched on as Manchester City's Rayan Cherki opened the scoring for the hosts on the stroke of half time.
France head coach, Didier Deschamps, made several changes at the interval, and his side were pulled back eight minutes into the second period when Strasbourg's Guela Doue found the net.
Gusto was brought on in the 66th minute, replacing Barcelona's Jules Kounde, but the game ended in defeat for the Blues full-back and his country after Manchester United's Amad Diallo struck a late winner for the Ivory Coast.
On Wednesday evening, Chelsea defender Jorrel Hato earned his eighth cap for the Netherlands as he featured in their World Cup warm-up friendly against Algeria.
The 20-year-old was introduced as a half-time substitute, but his evening ended in defeat as a late goal from Anis Hadj Moussa sealed victory for Algeria in Rotterdam.
