KUCHING: Insights Analytics Bhd has secured the exclusive rights to distribute and deploy p-CAT™, a proprietary pipeline condition assessment technology developed by Australia's Pipeline Inspection & Assessment (PIA), across Malaysia.

In a statement, the Sarawak-based water technology and intelligent asset management company said the exclusive appointment was formalised through a memorandum of understanding signed between the two companies today.

As part of the partnership, Insights Analytics has commenced Malaysia's first p-CAT™ pilot deployment with Lembaga Air Perak, covering about seven kilometres of water pipeline.

Managing director Ts. Frank Wee said the partnership would strengthen the company's efforts to modernise Malaysia's water infrastructure.

"This partnership marks a significant step in our mission to bring world-class pipeline diagnostic technology to Malaysia. With p-CAT™ now exclusively under Insights Analytics' distribution, we are well-positioned to support utilities and regulators in addressing NRW challenges while advancing the nation's water infrastructure agenda," he said.

Wee added that the pilot deployment demonstrated the company's commitment to introducing technologies that enable water operators to make smarter infrastructure investment decisions.

"We believe this collaboration will create meaningful value for the country's water sector through improved asset visibility, enhanced operational efficiency and more sustainable water management practices," he said.

PIA vice-president of international partnerships (Asia) Shazlee Kabeer said the pilot deployment with Lembaga Air Perak marked an encouraging first step in supporting Malaysian water utilities with advanced pipeline condition assessment solutions.

“The ongoing pilot deployment with Lembaga Air Perak is an encouraging first step, and we look forward to working together to support water utilities across Malaysia with advanced pipeline condition assessment solutions.”
