Idea Protection Consultations Anywhere... Ministry of SMEs and Startups to Hold 'Idea Consulting Day'

One-on-One Consultations with Intellectual Property Experts for Entrepreneursin 17 Cities and Provinces

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on July 12 that it will hold the 'Idea Consulting Day' events across 17 cities and provinces nationwide.

This regional 'Idea Consulting Day' has been organized as part of the Startup One-Stop Support Center's entrepreneurship support program. In particular, as the enthusiasm for entrepreneurship continues to spread—evidenced by more than 63,000 applications for the 'Startup for All Project'—the initiative aims to help prospective founders and startup companies further develop their ideas and protect their rights.

The event will provide tailored one-on-one consultations with experts in the field of intellectual property, enabling startups to protect their ideas safely and resolve legal and technological challenges that may arise during the commercialization process.

More than 120 experts will participate in the consultations, including attorneys affiliated with the Startup One-Stop Support Center, the Integrated Technology Protection Group for SMEs, the Legal Support Group, and the Trade Secret Protection Center of the Korea Intellectual Property Protection Agency. Comprehensive support will be offered for trade secret protection, patents and trademarks, technology protection, and legal advice.

In addition to intellectual property consultations, expert advice in areas such as management, taxation, and accounting—essential for the startup process—will also be provided, enhancing the effectiveness of the support. If additional support is needed after the consultations, continuous expert advice will be arranged through the Startup One-Stop Support Center.

The Ministry plans to use this event to raise awareness about the importance of idea protection from the earliest stages of entrepreneurship and to create an environment where prospective founders and startups can confidently commercialize their innovative ideas.

Seunghwan Mok, Director General for Startup Venture Innovation at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, stated, "Ideas are the most important asset for startups, so it is essential to protect them systematically from the very beginning." He added, "We will continue to provide unwavering support, leveraging the nationwide Startup One-Stop Support System and our network of intellectual property experts, so that startups can confidently take on new challenges and pursue innovation."
