How much did Canadian taxpayers spend to protect Prince Harry?
A CBC investigation revealed that Canadian taxpayers spent more to protect Prince Harry during five years of visits to Canada than any other internationally protected person over the same period. The cost to protect Prince Harry and, later, his wife, Meghan Markle, accounted for around 10 per cent of the roughly $5.2 million spent between 2014/15 and 2019/20 to provide security to more than 100 internationally protected persons who visited Canada.
