Hinduja Tech Appoints Faiz Ahmad As CEO, Effective 1 November

Ahmad will succeed Kumar Prabhas, who retires after nine years at the mobility engineering and technology company

Hinduja Tech has appointed Faiz Ahmad as its Chief Executive Officer, with the leadership change taking effect from 1 November 2026. He will succeed Kumar Prabhas, who will retire as CEO on 31 October after nine years at the company.

The appointment was approved by the company’s board. Hinduja Tech, a subsidiary of Ashok Leyland, provides engineering and research and development services to the mobility industry.

Ahmad has been part of the broader Hinduja Group ecosystem for nearly two decades. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Vehicle Engineering & Development at Hinduja Tech.

In his current roles, Ahmad has been involved in strengthening the company’s engineering capabilities, developing talent and improving operations. The company said his experience in engineering, mobility and technology-led business transformation will support his transition into the CEO role.

Prabhas steps down after nine years

Prabhas has led Hinduja Tech for nine years, during which the company expanded its international presence and strengthened its relationships with customers.

Under his leadership, Hinduja Tech also expanded its service portfolio and completed strategic acquisitions, including DSD and Tecosim. The company said these moves helped broaden its engineering and technology capabilities and strengthened its position as a partner to customers across global markets.

Prabhas and Ahmad will work together through October to ensure a smooth transition.

Dheeraj G. Hinduja, who thanked Prabhas for his contribution, said Ahmad’s industry knowledge and experience within the group position him to lead the company through its next phase.

Ahmad said he would focus on building on the company’s existing capabilities, working with employees, customers and partners, and continuing to drive innovation and sustainable value.

Focus remains on mobility engineering

Hinduja Tech said it will continue to invest in engineering and digital capabilities, innovation and talent as it expands its work with customers in the mobility and technology sectors.

With Ahmad taking charge in November, the company will enter its next phase under a leader who has been closely involved in its operations and vehicle engineering business.
