Girl critically injured after falling out of Alta Vista Dr. apartment building
Ottawa paramedics say a young girl was seriously injured after falling out of a high-rise apartment building on Saturday morning.
An Ottawa Paramedic Service spokesperson tells CTV News that first responders were called to the 1500 block of Alta Vista Drive near Roland Avenue at 11:22 a.m.
Paramedics could not confirm the girl’s age but said she was younger than a teenager. She was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
It remains unclear from how high the child fell from.
It’s the most recent serious incident involving a child falling from an apartment building in Ottawa this year.
On April 27, a child died after falling from the window of a high-rise building in Sandy Hill. On June 4, a child suffered life-threatening injuries after falling from a balcony in Stittsville.
