After a less-than-stellar display in Sunday afternoon's 3-point victory over Italy, Team USA responded with a 105-64 win over the Czech Republic. While the defense stepped up in a tremendous way for the American team on Sunday, offense was essential in the 41-point blowout victory on Monday afternoon.
Breanna Stewart led the way for Team USA with 19 points on an efficient 8-of-11 shooting, adding six rebounds and six assists. Angel Reese contributed 13 points, six rebounds and two steals, while Napheesa Collier chipped in 12 points and seven rebounds. Caitlin Clark rounded out the scoring with nine points and seven assists.
The win was a change of pace for the American national team following Sunday. In comments obtained by Basketball News, Paige Beckers spoke about the adjustment process Team USA is making at the start of national play.

"Definitely, I think there's learning experiences and growth from every single game. But to be challenged like this early, for our group, I think it's great for us in the long run," Bueckers said. "I mean, we've been together here for five days, so to grow through this experience, learn what we need to get better at, but have confidence in our ability to find ways to win. But also have room for growth and know that there's so much that we need to get better at, I think it'll do best for us."
Team USA now remains unbeaten in World Cup group play. They now advance directly into the quarterfinals, tipping off on September 10th.
