Everything you need to know about Lytham Festival

More than 100,000 music fans are set to descend on the Fylde coast for Lytham Festival.

The annual five-day event is one of the North West's biggest music festivals and attracts some of the world's top acts.

The open-air music festival celebrates its 15th anniversary this year and organisers promise five "incredible nights of live music".

When does the Lytham Festival take place?

The TK Maxx Lytham Festival is taking place on 1-5 July.

Revellers will gather on Lytham Green.

They will be joined by 12 special guests and support artists, including Lauren Spencer Smith, Skunk Anansie, Ronan Keating, Scissor Sisters and Lil Jon.

1 July: Teddy Swims will headline with support from breakout vocalist and songwriter Lauren Spencer Smith and multi-instrumentalist Jordan Rakei.

2 July: Seven-time Grammy Award winning singer, songwriter and musician Alanis Morissette is headlining with support from Skunk Anansie, guitar indie-pop band Pale Waves and Mercury-nominated The Big Moon.

3 July: International multi-award-winning Michael Bublé will be joined by singer-songwriter Ronan Keating, pop duo Appleton with BBC Radio Lancashire's breakfast show presenter Graham Liver providing the warm up.

4 July: The arrival of Pet Shop Boys marks a local show for Chris Lowe, who originally hails from Blackpool. They will be supported by glam-pop band Scissor Sisters and Radio 1 DJ Dave Pearce.

5 July: Pitbull hits the Lancashire coast to close this year's Lytham Festival. He will be the first ever rap star to headline the event. He will be joined by special guest rapper and record producer Lil Jon, while Cuban-American rapper DJ Laz is set to open the show.

Gates open at 17:00 BST every night.

Organisers said show times were subject to change, so they suggest festivalgoers "arrive early to soak up the atmosphere" and encourage them to download the official Lytham Festival app to keep up to date.

Official festival parking opens from 15:00 daily. Organisers recommend this is booked in advance.

Entertainment is due to finish by 23:00 every night except Sunday when it will end by 22:30.

Organisers advise travelling by public transport.

Lytham railway station is a five-minute walk from the festival site.

There are shuttle buses covering routes between Preston and Lytham and Blackpool and Lytham which can be booked in advance with wheelchair-accessible spaces.

The big green coach offers return coach travel from: Blackburn, Bolton, Bradford, Burnley, Chester, Chorley, Horwich, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Runcorn, Southport, St Helens, Stockport, Warrington and Wigan.

There is also a park-and-ride service at South Promenade Green, which is about a 10-minute bus journey from the event.

The official drop-off/pick-up zone is located at Lowther Gardens, West Beach.

The taxi pick-up and drop-off point is located at Lowther Pavilion.

Bags larger than an A4 piece of paper are not permitted and all bags are subject to a search so organisers ask you avoid bringing one where you can to speed up entry to the festival.

Several items are prohibited, these include umbrellas, chairs, large cameras and recording equipment, perfume/aftershave, glass and alcohol.

You cannot bring any food or drink into the venue.

There are free water re-fill stations at the venue.

Each person can bring one sealed water bottle (max 500ml), and one empty reusable water bottle.

If you have a medical condition and a doctor's note you will be allowed diet-specific food and drink only.

What support services will be there?

The festival said it has extensive dedicated medical and welfare facilities available for everyone to provide care, calm, and support.

Is there support for deaf people with hearing impairments?

Yes. There will be a British Sign Language interpreter at every concert.
