CSIO welcomes seven new technology vendor members
The Center for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO) has welcomed seven new technology vendor members from across Canada, giving the organizations access to the association's data standards, digital solutions and collaborative network aimed at advancing innovation and connectivity across the P&C insurance industry.
The new members span both established brokerages and insurtech startups. Ai Insurance Producers provides Canadian brokerages with AI voice agents and assistants that work inside Microsoft Teams to handle client outreach, policy intake and renewals automatically. Capstone Insurance is a British Columbia-based brokerage offering personal and commercial insurance solutions. General Magic builds insurance-specific AI, deploying a team of AI agents to handle customer service, underwriting and quoting within a single connected system. Gleano digitizes commercial insurance applications to help brokers streamline submissions and improve data quality. Intellibroker Solutions, a software development company wholly owned by CHAT Insurance Services, provides technology to CHAT and its affiliated companies within BrokerTeam Group. Nour Assurance is a Laval, Quebec-based brokerage combining experienced brokers with technology-driven service. Synthmind, based in Toronto, develops AI-powered software aimed at modernizing insurance operations.
Kathryn Sinclair (pictured), president and CEO of CSIO, said the organization's members remain central to its work.
"We are pleased to welcome these seven organizations to a community committed to advancing data standards, driving innovation, and strengthening collaboration across Canada's P&C industry. Together, we are helping to create a more connected future for brokers, insurers, and the customers they serve," she said.
A maturing standards infrastructure
The new vendors are joining a standards ecosystem that has expanded considerably in scope. CSIO's Commercial Lines Data Standards now incorporate 386 Insurance Bureau of Canada codes across 14 industry segments enabled for real-time API quoting, up from a narrower base just a few years ago, allowing brokers to quote and bind small commercial policies directly through their broker management systems without portals or paper applications.
In 2025 alone, CSIO said it helped insurers eliminate 1,200 non-standard coverage codes, known as Z-Codes, and a steady stream of insurers and vendors, including Wawanesa, Gore Mutual, Definity, Northbridge, Applied Systems Canada, Acturis Canada and Vertafore Canada, achieved various CSIO certifications over the past year.
Three of the seven new members, Ai Insurance Producers, General Magic and Synthmind, are built specifically around AI-driven tools for brokerages, reflecting a broader shift already visible across the Canadian market. Canadian insurers appear to be moving faster on AI adoption than the broader Canadian economy, where national business AI adoption remained at only around 12% to 14% in 2025, with adoption in finance and insurance specifically climbing more than 20% over the same period.
For brokers, the growing number of AI-focused vendors joining an already well-established standards ecosystem, one now spanning hundreds of IBC codes and a broad roster of certified insurers, signals that AI-driven tools are increasingly expected to plug into the same connectivity infrastructure that governs conventional broker management systems rather than operate as standalone add-ons.
As AI adoption accelerates across the Canadian P&C sector faster than in the broader economy, brokerages evaluating new technology partners may increasingly look to CSIO membership, and the standards compliance it implies, as a signal of how well a given vendor's tools will integrate with existing carrier and broker systems.
