Canada, Turkey seek pragmatic ties
Chris Kilford, a former senior Canadian military attaché to Turkey, says Ottawa can work on securing trade benefits from the country in such areas as nuclear technology. But he warns that as Prime Minister Mark Carney heads to Ankara for the NATO summit, bilateral talks could stall due to geopolitical issues and tensions remain with Turkey over asylum claimants.
