Canada, Ireland share bonds that date back centuries
As Prime Minister Mark Carney prepares to travel to Dublin, Deirdre Giblin, the head of the Ireland Canada Business Association, says Irish people have never forgotten the work Canadians did to welcome those fleeing famine in the 1800s. She also said Carney advocated for Ireland when he led Canada's central bank, to help the country recover from a devastating financial crash. (June 11, 2026)
