Victoria promises the largest display of fireworks since the country turned 150 to finish Canada Day festivities this year.
The celebration finishes with fireworks over the Inner Harbour around 10:20 p.m.
Festivities spill from the Inner Harbour and Ship Point to the legislature lawn on July 1, and finish with fireworks over the water around 10:20 p.m.
“Canada Day at the Inner Harbour is a chance to come together and share in a day of music, culture and community,” Mayor Marianne Alto said in a news release. “It’s a day to connect, celebrate and take in the energy of the city.”
The free event begins at 11 a.m., with food trucks across the Inner Harbour and a busking showcase at Ship Point featuring local performers through the afternoon.
Programming at the legislature stage begins at 4:30 p.m. with a welcome from the Lekwungen Traditional Dancers, live music from Linggo, Bucan Bucan and Covers in a Dangerous Time, and a DJ set from Bryan Boitano.
More information, including road closures and traffic impacts, will be shared ahead of July 1, the city said Wednesday (June 24).
