Attack on Saudi capital's airport kills 12

Authorities in Saudi Arabia say 12 people were killed in an attack on an international airport in the country's capital, Riyadh, on Saturday.

The airport has been subjected to repeated attacks from anti-government Houthi forces in neighboring Yemen. Tensions are rising as the conflict is intensifying between the Houthis and Yemen's interim government backed by Saudi Arabia.

Saudi civilian aviation authorities also said on Sunday that 309 people were wounded, including those with serious injuries.

The airport was hit by multiple Houthi attacks in October, resulting in deaths and injuries, as well as damage to civilian aircraft and airport facilities.

The governments of the United States, Japan and other countries are calling on their nationals to stay away from the airport and surrounding areas.
