Appeal approves 30 affordable homes after rejection
Plans for 30 affordable homes in Jersey - that were rejected by a former planning committee - have been approved following an appeal.
The States said the Assistant Minister for the Environment Senator Sir Mark Boleat had granted planning permission for the development of 30 affordable homes on a site on the edge of St Martin's Village.
An application for the development was originally refused by the former Planning Committee in March 2025.
Following this, the applicant appealed against the decision and the case was reviewed by independent planning inspector Nigel McGurk, who recommended planning permission be granted, the government said.

The site at Field MN410, La Rue des Buttes, was "rezoned" for affordable housing in the Bridging Island Plan in 2022.
The government said in the planning inspector's report, the main issue in the appeal was the impact of the proposed development on highway safety.
It said having considered the available evidence, McGurk found that improvements to visibility at the site entrance would provide safe access to the development.
It was also concluded the scheme would deliver wider highway and access improvements that would benefit all road users.
The government added Sir Mark agreed with the assessment and granted planning permission, subject to planning conditions and the completion of a planning obligation agreement.
