An Amber Alert for a missing six-year-old boy on Tuesday remains in effect for Yukon and the Northwest Territories, but has been cancelled in Alberta and British Columbia.

Police are looking for Lanakai Morrison, who has long light-brown hair and brown eyes.

RCMP say he was taken on Tuesday from the hamlet of Valhalla Centre, roughly 45 kilometres northwest of Grande Prairie, Alta., as the crow flies.

The Amber Alert initially issued in Alberta was expanded to include B.C., Yukon and the Northwest Territories.

The boy was last seen about 130 kilometres northwest of Valhalla Centre in Fort St. John at 9:30 a.m. PT Thursday, RCMP say, adding that there have been a number of sightings in B.C.

Police say the boy may be with his mother, 35-year-old Krista Morrison, as well as 35-year-old Daniel Ludwig and four-year-old Karl Morrison.

Police say Krista Morrison has long dark brown hair and brown eyes. Ludwig is described as five feet 11 inches tall with a large build and shaved head. Karl Morrison has long dirty blond hair.

The group is believed to be travelling in a red 2006 Ford F-350. The current licence plate is unknown. Police say the truck has a lift kit and partial rear window tint.

Anyone who sees the boy, group or vehicle is advised not to approach and to call 911 immediately.
