AI bosses sign ‘morally binding’ safety accord after lunch with Trump

Washington | US President Donald Trump has stared down calls from some artificial intelligence leaders for government to intervene to curb the pace of development, instead pushing a “morally binding” document on them to voluntarily keep their technology in check.

Top AI bosses, including Anthropic chief executive Dario Amodei, OpenAI president Greg Brockman and xAI founder Elon Musk, descended on the White House for a working lunch on Tuesday (Wednesday AEST) to discuss their safety fears and call for regulation.
