9 injured in boat explosion at restaurant
Nine people were injured in a reported boat explosion Saturday afternoon in Cecil County. According to the Maryland Office of the State Fire Marshal, crews from Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1 of Chesapeake City and Cecil County were called around 4:20 p.m. for a report of a boat explosion at Schaefer's Canal House restaurant on Bank Street. The OSFM said seven people were on the boat and two were on a nearby dock. Four people were flown and three people were taken by ambulance to hospitals. The conditions of those injured was not released.
