3 Texas Tech Softball Players Injured In Offseason Jet Ski Accident

The Texas Tech softball team announced this week that three members suffered injuries in a jet ski accident.

It was reported that three Texas Tech players got hurt this Thursday afternoon during a team event. This news was later confirmed by the Red Raiders. Thankfully, no one suffered a critical injury during this accident.

"Texas Tech Athletics can confirm members of its softball program were involved in an accident Thursday afternoon at Lake Ransom Canyon outside of Lubbock as part of a team event," a spokesperson for the university said. "There were thankfully no critical injuries as a result of the accident. All injured student-athletes have been treated and are expected to make a full recovery."

According to KAMC, the three Texas Tech players who got hurt suffered injuries to either their legs or hands.

The names of the players involved in this accident haven't been released by Texas Tech at this time. What we do know, however, is that one player was transported to University Medical Center via ambulance.

"Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers," Texas Tech coach Gerry Glasco said. "Glad everyone is okay and recovering well!"

A true powerhouse is emerging at Texas Tech.

Texas Tech has been highly successfully under Glasco's leadership, making it all the way to the championship series of the Women's College World Series in each of the past two seasons.

Unfortunately for the Red Raiders, they came up short both times in the championship series.

There's no question the national runner-ups will be a threat next season as long as they're healthy.
